Level Design Skills

 

I am experienced in developing different kinds of levels, focusing on content and challenges. I love to work hand in hand with artists and programmers and to connect the sensory and interactive parts of a game into an appealing and intuitive game experience.

I am experienced in building 2D and 3D levels in Unity and in Unreal Engine in different states of detail, from very rough drafts to a polished grade of the final level.

I'm experienced in working closly with environment artists and adapting visual concepts into levels, while taking layout and gameplay into account. I also love to create environment concept and working with moodboards and sketches myself.

I am well practiced in staging combat situations and creating a challenging pacing and progression for different target audiences, from solo experiences in platformers to raid content in a mmorpg. I also have some experience in scripting enemy behaviours.

I use sketches and analogue or digital prototypes to create concepts for layouts, capture the visions of other designers and to share them with a team. I also like take player data and playtest into account to optimize layout design
